SCP-009

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-009 is to be contained within a spherical containment chamber measuring 100 meters in diameter. The chamber must be constructed with reinforced steel and equipped with electromagnetic pulse emitters to disrupt SCP-009's anomalous levitation properties. Access to SCP-009's chamber is restricted to Level 4 personnel and requires approval from the O5 Council.

Description:

SCP-009 is an anomalous floating structure composed entirely of an unidentified plastic-like material, resembling a colossal red spire. It measures approximately 300 meters in height and 150 meters in diameter at its widest point. Despite its massive size, SCP-009 exhibits no gravitational pull and remains suspended at varying heights above ground level.

Anomalous Property:

Levitation: SCP-009 hovers above ground level without any visible means of support or propulsion. Efforts to determine the source of its levitation have been inconclusive. The plastic-like material it is composed of shows no signs of structural degradation or wear over time.

Addendum 009-1:

SCP-009 was discovered in [REDACTED], Mongolia, following reports of inexplicable weather patterns and spontaneous vegetation growth in the vicinity. Foundation operatives intercepted and contained SCP-009 after confirming its anomalous nature and potential threat to local populations.

Addendum 009-2:

Research into the origins and purpose of SCP-009 is ongoing. Initial attempts to communicate with SCP-009 have been inconclusive, as it does not respond to external stimuli or attempts at interaction.
